THE FA COMMUNITY AWARDS 2012

10:02 AM, Thursday, 16 February 12. News

McDonald’s, The FA’s Community Partner, is proud to announce the third year of the McDonald’s and FA Community Awards.

The McDonald’s and FA Community Awards 2012 recognise the hard work and dedication that goes into making grassroots football happen across the country by volunteers. The Awards will officially be launched in March 2012 with the National Awards Ceremony planned for October 2012. This is due to 2012 being an exceptional time for sport with both the London 2012 Olympics and UEFA EURO 2012 being held. (previously held in August during the FA Community Shield).

In preparation to the above, it is important that FA Charter Standard Club Officials, FA Charter Standard League Officials and Volunteers start looking at:

Stage 1
• Who deserves to be recognised for their hard work and commitment to grassroots football?
• Why does that coach deserves to be recognised?
• Why is the club worthy of such an award?

Stage 2
You will find a questionnaire which you can download and use to help you complete the application. It is important that you provide enough detail to make the application stand out amongst others.

Stage 3
As soon as the FA Launch the Awards, we will be able to update our website and inform all FA CS Clubs. Be ready to transfer the information onto the Nomination Form and submit. Details of submission will be provided on the day of the launch in March 2012.

Stage 4
The County Association, through its CFA CS Committee, will select the winners of each of the 8 categories. Each winner will be put forward to the Regional Awards. Regional Winners will then be put forward to the FA National Awards. FA National Winners will attend a very prestigious award at Wembley Stadium in October 2012.

Date for your diary: The County Association will hold its Community Awards Evening 2012 on Tuesday 3rd July 2012 at its Headquarters, Holmes Park, to all Nominees of FA Charter Standard Clubs and FA CS Leagues. Winners will be presented with certificates and prizes, which will include practical equipment and vouchers towards Coach Education Courses.
No volunteer will be recognised for his/her contribution to grassroots football for the endless hours they give freely to the club and their players. No club will be recognised for the work the committee does behind the scene with the aim to create a better environment for its playing members, coaches, managers and volunteers. Only until someone picks up a pen and starts writing or uses a keyboard and starts typing. Tell us about the volunteer or/and the club. It is now down to you!

I look forward to receiving your applications in March 2012. Good luck.
